Speaker: Jamie Roth - Legislative Update

Debra Bianchi, Western Slope Regional Director at the Alzheimer’s Association Colorado Chapter will present an overview of services offered for our clientele.

 

Jamie Roth, Esq, will be presenting the 2019 Trust & Estate Annual Case Law update. Recent case law covers:

- The elements of common law marriage

- PR’s right to access decedent’s legal files

- Defamation actions against a probate attorney for statements made in course of representation

- A first impression interpretation of Colorado’s omitted spouse statute

- Procedural safeguards must be followed before sua sponte appointment of guardian

 

CLE credit is available.

 

Jamie’s Bio:

 

Jamie J. Roth. Esq., is a solo practitioner in Glenwood Springs, Colorado.  Jamie graduated from the University of Colorado, School of Law in 1997 and earned an LLM in tax from New York University in 2011. Jamie regularly teaches continuing legal education programs for the Colorado Bar Association/CLE including the Advanced Estate Planning Symposium, the Trust and Estate Planning Retreat, and Estate Administration Basic Skills. Jamie prepares the quarterly case law update for the Trust & Estate Section of the Colorado Bar Association, and is active with the section. Jamie is a contributing author of the Senior Law Handbook. Jamie is a past President of the Ninth Judicial District Bar Association, and a member of the Colorado Attorney Disciplinary Hearing Board.
